This will be a very special service for the Fr John and the Parish. This is John’s first Anglican Eucharist service as a priest; little AnNe will have her baptism; and the thanksgiving and commissioning of the out-going and new Parish Council will take place.
John will be ordained to the Priesthood at Holy Trinity Church, Goondiwindi. The event will draw people from across Southern Queensland.
All are welcome to attend.
The Goondiwindi Anglican Parish will hold its Annual General Meeting following the 8.30am morning service. All members of the Parish are invited to attend.
Ash Wednesday commences the special and sacred season of Lent - that time of reflection and preparation for the great mysteries of Holy Week and Easter. Ash Wednesday grounds us in the finite reality of humanity with those words, “Remember, you are but dust and to dust you shall return.” In the reckoning of our ‘Right size in the Universe” (Noel Davis), and through receiving the sign of our pilgrimage, the ash-cross on our foreheads, we commence the journey together.
Many blessings on your journey.
